history: Cristina Laura Warner was born on June 6th 1979 in Montreal to Donatella and Francis Warner. She was the first born triplet followed by Giuliana and finally Justin. The triplets have an older brother named Domenic who was born 4 years before they were. Cristina was very happy with her family and the triplets were all very close growing up. She was also very close to her older brother Domenic, although she held a closer bond to Justin and Giuliana. Cristina was never personally close to either one of her parents. Her mother made it quite obvious that she preferred Giuliana to her, while her father was not close to any of his children. He was already quite old when they were born. Her mother was a student of her father’s and she married him when she was 21 and he was 45. Her mother, as time went on, began to wonder if she had made the right choice in marrying someone so much older than she was. The couple was careful though and only began to try having kids when Donatella was finishing her Masters. Domenic was born not too long afterwards, followed by the triplets 4 years later.

When the triplets reached high school, Cristina felt a closer bond to Giuliana while Justin was a bit closer to Domenic. This had to do more with the fact that the girls were both energetic and extroverted (like their mother), while Justin and Domenic were the quiet, introverted types (like their father). Although the girls were the popular ones and the ones who were always out and about, they always took their brother with them where ever they went. Out of the two girls, Cristina was the more studious one. She always knew she wanted to become something pertaining to medicine and would study very hard to get good grades. It was a given fact that they would celebrate extra hard when graduation came around. With a bunch of fake IDs and several friends already in possession of driver’s licences, the girls and some of their closest friends decided to party a bit after their Senior Prom. Cristina had been trying to get Justin to come along, but he was never in the mood, until the day of prom when both Giuliana and Cristina managed to get him to come along.

The gang managed to have an amazing time, but unfortunately drank way too much alcohol (the girls included). When it was time to go home, the gang separated into two cars. In one car rode Cristina, Giuliana with their friends Andre, Marcos, and Isabella. The designated driver was Andre and although he drank a little more than he was supposed to, he believed he was alright to drive. The other car held Justin, with some more friends, Marie-Anne, Mathieu, Jason, and Philomena as the designated driver. Philomena was more cautious and only had a small beer before taking the wheel. Here is where the story becomes tragic for the triplets. While Justin’s car got back to the house safe and sound, the car holding the girls did not. Andre was speeding, trying to show off to Giuliana who was riding in the passenger seat and whom he had harbouring feelings for. He did not notice that he was beginning to swerve into on-coming traffic. Isabella in the back seat yelled out that another car was about to hit them. Andre jerked back trying to avoid the car and ended up hitting a van on the other side. The impact caused the car to spin uncontrollably and hit a lamp post. Giuliana was killed during the impact with the van while their friend Marcos died in the hospital from internal bleeding. Andre suffered from paralysis from the waist down while Isabella suffered brain damages which cause her to get routine checkups at the doctor’s. Cristina managed to suffer the least out of all of them; however she was kept at the hospital for several days while the doctors performed surgery after surgery trying to fix the damages that the car accident brought her. She was left with the prominent scar which started at her belly button and stretched all the way to her lower back.

While recovering in the hospital, Cristina kept asking about Giuliana and if she was alright. Although no one wanted to tell her, she knew that something was not right. She felt that a part of her was missing and she didn’t understand why. Justin was the one to tell her that Giuliana had been the first one killed. Cristina did not take the news well at all. For a few months following the accident, she refused to see anyone, including Justin. Justin refused to give up on her though and would stay with her even when the words she would say would hurt him deeply. The family reacted to the tragedy in different ways. Donatella could not stay with Francis one second longer and left not even a year following the accident. No one has heard from her since and Cristina refuses to speak about her mother. Francis drowned himself in his work, offering to teach more and more classes at McGill University in order to avoid seeing his surviving children. Domenic although still able to talk to Justin somewhat, could not bring himself to talk to Cristina. Cristina to this day believes that he blames her for Giuliana’s death because she was always the more responsible one out of the two. However, Domenic can’t look at Cristina because he blames himself for not setting a better example for his sisters. He blames himself for not being the one to pick them up and bring them home. Domenic was already attending Concordia University in the Journalism program. It would not be long before he moved to Toronto to attend Carlton University and eventually begin a career as a political journalist.

Justin was the only one who was able to keep it together, mostly for Cristina’s sake. After he helped fix her, she in turn was able to help him. When they both started CEGEP (Quebec version of College), they stuck by each other through thick and thin. Nothing could separate the two of them. It was during this time where Cristina learned to live life to the fullest and enjoy her life. It was what Giuliana would have wanted from her. So Cris continued to live life to the fullest and took on a personality of someone who would bring sunshine on the cloudiest of days. Whenever she would feel the loss of her sister creeping in, she would cry it out with Justin or by herself and then proceed to live life somewhat normally. When Cristina and Justin graduated from CEGEP, they both decided to go their separate ways. Cristina was accepted into McGill University, a Canadian Ivy League school, while Justin travelled all the way to California to attend UC Berkley. Cristina missed Justin terribly and the first few months at McGill were especially hard for her, but she toughed it out and graduated within 4 years, the average time to graduate.

By the time she graduated from McGill, Cristina was so fed up and tired of living in Montreal and tired of living with her ghost of a father that she decided to attend University of Washington, in Seattle for Medical school and decided to specialize in surgery. Ever since the accident, she decided that she wanted to become a surgeon. Whenever people would ask her why she chose surgery, she would simply respond that she got a rush every time she held a scalpel. It was at University of Washington where she met the best friends Matt Carson and James Greene. Cristina actually met James first because they were both specializing in surgery. She didn’t really think much of James at first and found him to be quite arrogant and overly flirtatious, but took a quick liking to his best friend Matt. Soon enough, the three began hanging out at some bars in New York. However, Cristina wouldn’t touch alcohol. Ever since the accident, she couldn’t ever drink alcohol without gagging. About a year after the three began hanging out, Matt asked Cristina out on a date. She was hesitant at first, but decided to give it a shot. She had had previous boyfriends, but they never really lasted longer than a few months. She saw herself as too busy to be in a relationship and either she would call it off because she was busy, or they would dump her for being too busy for them.

It was different with Matt. Matt understood her and how she was. Although there were fights and arguments between them, they managed to last for about two years. Cristina lost her virginity to Matt almost towards the end of their relationship. This was when Matt saw her deep scars and asked her what had caused them. Cristina decided it was time to tell him about the accident and about Giuliana. Matt was the first person she told about the accident. It was while she was making love to Matt where she realized that she was falling in love with him. This revelation scared her to no end. She had refused to let another person control her so and then take a piece of her soul when they would eventually leave. It happened when Giuliana died and she would be damned if she let Matt take another piece of her. About a week after they made love, Cris decided that she needed to end things with Matt before she fell even more in love with him. She was about to call him up when he showed up at her apartment saying that they needed to talk. After walking and talking for a really long time, they both decided that they needed to break up. Cris learnt that Matt felt the same way and this was mostly due to his first wife and how she had died young from cancer. Matt was just as broken as she was. Cris was somewhat relieved that they could still stay friends even though they were not together.

The trio eventually graduated from UW and they each got an internship at Seattle Grace. Cris and James went on to do surgery while Matt stuck with Oncology. Cristina still felt feelings towards Matt and she did think about him often. At work, Cristina thrived in surgery. She would feel so great every time she would help out a more experienced surgeon and she was always so eager to learn and to help out. She decided that she wanted to specialize in general surgery. Cristina was even happier when her twin Justin decided to move to Washington to work at one of the Universities when he finished his doctorate. Things couldn’t be better for her. One night while Cris, James, Matt and even Justin were hanging out at a local rock club, Cristina met Kyle Thomas, a guitarist in a small rock band. The two hit it off right away and began dating not too long afterwards. Although she did like him and thought he was cute, it wasn’t the same as it was when she was with Matt. She eventually began to feel more for him and decided to try and make it work with Kyle and take a chance for once. During her third year residency (at the time of this RP), Cristina came home to find that Kyle had been sleeping with one of his fans for a very long time. Heartbroken and incredibly angry, she threw out everything he had kept in her place and told him she never wanted to see him again. Cris now wants to be left alone so that she can begin to get over yet another disappointment in her life.
